Sue-Ling Garcia Hyde was born in Arecibo, a small town in Puerto Rico and always knew her life was destined for greatness!
She began her true passion for painting when she was a little girl, but little did she know her amazing journey would begin in the modeling world. When, at 18 years old, she was recruited by a Japanese Modeling Agency! Her modeling career took her around the globe from Tokyo, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Korea, to Milan, Paris, London, and New York. She was the first Latin cover girl and the first foreign model to represent the Japanese make-up line SHISEIDO. With her image circulating worldwide for celebrity designers such as Moshino, Versus, Enrico Coveri and Vertigo. Sue-Ling was not just another pretty face. While traveling around the world, and living the lifestyle of a supermodel, she often found ways to let her creativity flow. She would always carry a sketch pad and pencils, allowing her to express every moment of the culture she was experiencing. In Japan, she created art on Pizza Boxes; In Milan she painted Frescos on her apartment walls. Always drawing on napkins or notebooks, her appointment book or sketch pad, she eventually created a cartoon character called Evil Babe, a modern day hero for young women, that would help them on their travels. Three years ago, motherhood was calling, and Sue-Ling happily gave birth to her beautiful son James Moses and so began another chapter in her life. She has written and illustrated her first children's book called "I Am An LA Baby!" and with her passion for art and her unique style of painting re-ignited, Sue-Ling has created her new collection inspired only by love. She is looking forward to exhibiting her collection in the very near future, for her to express herself and for you to enjoy. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband actor James Hyde and her son James Moses where she continues to create and inspire. |
